The process of obtaining a licence is not easy and has many nuances. Legislation changes quite often, and the requirements that were in place yesterday may no longer be relevant today. Requirements for pharmacy warehouse premises
The total area of the pharmacy warehouse should be at least 250 sq.m. of production space + service space. Therefore, look for premises with an area of at least 300 sq. m. The premises should have a separate isolated entrance (not used by other entities) and a ramp with a shed for unloading goods.
Personnel requirements
It is mandatory to have a manager who has a diploma of higher pharmaceutical education and courses in pharmacy management.
Only pharmacists have the right to sell medicines.
Workers involved in the selection, picking and packaging of products are not subject to the mandatory education requirements. All employees must undergo periodic medical examinations.
Licence validity period
A licence for a pharmaceutical warehouse is issued in electronic form and is valid for an unlimited period. No paper version is issued. You can find out whether you have a licence or not on the website of the State Service of Ukraine on Medicines and Drugs Control.
